The Two Meditation Skills Proven to Accelerate Your PTSD Healing

Would you like to learn how to relax your PTSD symptoms and promote calm, inner peace, and quiet?

If so, you're probably like thousands of trauma survivors I've helped use the benefits of meditation to support PTSD healing.

Meditation has been around for centuries but it's only been recently that interest has turned to using meditation with those people who suffer from post traumatic stress disorder (PTSD.)

What makes it hard, though, is that most trauma survivors are besieged with internal chaos when they try to become still.

Closing their eyes can be fraught.

If you’re reading this it’s likely you have a history of trauma.

You know, then, from the inside how disorienting your mind can get.

You have first hand experience with feelings exploding inside and causing distress, and you know how hard it is to have your body calm down or be soothed.

All this makes it difficult to get close to the positive benefits of meditation. Yet, the benefits are still there, available to you with practice.

Meditation, yoga, and contemplation practices can bring greater serenity and peace, more relaxation and serenity.

In this paper I’ll describe the two essential meditation techniques—mindfulness and concentration—that are proven to accelerate your healing and decrease your suffering along the journey.

You can, however, take the ideas here and apply them to other approaches of yoga and contemplation. In fact I encourage you to test everything and see what works for you.

In the end, you are the one who will know what works best for you. Trust yourself and your process. I'm glad to help along the way.
